Philippe-Sella

Philippe Sella was born in 1962 in Tonneins, France. He played in 111 Rugby Union Matches for his country and scored 125 points in his international career. He played in the centre position for both France and for the French rugby club Agen. After retiring from International Rugby he played for the Saracens rugby club in England (joining Michael Lynagh from Australia) in 1996. Philippe Sella has been inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame and the IRB Hall of Fame. He held the record as the most internationally capped player .He was part of the French squad for the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. He played against South Africa in that nail biting rainy semi-final match in Durban (which France lost). Philippe Sella was definately one of the best players in International Rugby history. He scored 30 tries in his 111 matches. Sella retired from rugby in 1999 at the age of 36.
