This stadium is situated in Wembley Park in London in the United Kingdom. Construction on the first Wembley Stadium was completed in 1923. When it was closed down in 2000, the old stadium had seating for 82,000 fans. At a stage seating for 127,000 was available though. The old Wembley Stadium hosted the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final. The old stadium was demolished to make space for the new Wembley stadium in 2003. In 2007 construction was completed of the new Wembley stadium. The new Wembley stadium is owned by the FA (Football Association). Wembley stadium has always been the ground where the English National football team plays its home games. The FA Cup final is also played at this venue. The new Wembley stadium has covered seating for 90,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in the world of its kind. It’s also the 2nd biggest stadium in Europe. The new Wembley Stadium has 2,618 toilets, more than any other venue in the world.

The stadium is primarily used for Football (Soccer), but is also a venue used for American Football & Rugby League games and Athletics. For Athletics and American Football the seating capacity is reduced though. The new Wembley Stadium is also a very popular concert venue, capable of accommodating 75,000 to 90,000 seating and 15,000 standing concert goers. Artists like Muse, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, U2 and Coldplay (to name just a few) have performed at the new Wembley Stadium since 2007. The new Wembley Stadium is scheduled to host the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final. This truly is one of the best sporting venues in the world.
